SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities asked the public Friday for help in identifying a man who carried out four armed street holdups in Ocean Beach over a three-day period last month.

The thief pulled a pistol on pedestrians and bicycle riders and stole their wallets and other valuables in the 2300 block of Famosa Boulevard, the 700 and 1300 blocks of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, and the 2100 block of Catalina Boulevard, according to San Diego police.

The stickups occurred in the late-night or early-morning hours of Sept. 19-21. The two most recent ones took place within 25 minutes of each other.

The perpetrator was described as a Latino who appears to be in his early to mid-20s, roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall and 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. In two of the cases, he fled in a white early 1990s-model Ford Escort or similar vehicle.

During the third heist, he was accompanied by two other men. On that occasion, one of the robbers punched the victim, police said.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
