LA MESA (CBS 8) - A fire damaged two apartment units in La Mesa Monday.
The fire was reported just after noon at an apartment complex in the 8500 block of Lemon Avenue.
According to fire crews, no one was home in the second floor apartment where the fire started.
Witnesses say flames were shooting out of the apartment and spreading to the unit below.
"Just like fire, flames. It was really bad,” said Jessica Perez who witnessed fire. "It was scary. I had my daughters and my two nieces and nephews and they were scared. So it was scary."
No one was injured in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
