Celebrate Croctoberfest and help an endangered crocodile

Posted: Updated:
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Move over Octoberfest, Croctoberfest is here.

Croctoberfest is hosted by the San Diego Zoo and is being held Saturday, October 18 all in an effort to help raise awareness and funds for the conservation needs of an endangered crocodile called the African-Slender-Snouted crocodile.

The population of the African slender-snouted crocodile, native to central and western Africa, is dwindling, primarily due to habitat loss and hunting for its meat. Recent studies have shown that the West African population is a critically endangered species.
