Boy continues to recover after being shocked

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The father of a Temecula boy who got a serious electric shock at his backyard birthday party have given an update on his recovery.

Tony Belden says 10-year-old Elijah is doing extremely well and has been moved out of the pediatric intensive care unit. The family released two new pictures showing him in rehab at the hospital.

Elijah was put into a medically-induced coma on October 4 after being shocked at a pool party.

On Friday, his father described the moment Elijah's breathing tube was removed this past Sunday.

"There's no guarantees on a test like that. Until he woke up and to hear his voice, we were very joyful. It gives me chillbumps just to relive that moment," father Tony Belden said.

Friday was the first day Elijah was allowed to take a walk outside. His family hopes he'll be released from the hospital next week.
