SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Chargers' winning spirit was shining off the field Sunday helping fill the shelves of the local food bank.

The Bolts teamed up with Union Bank for Game Changers, a food drive held in the parking lot of Qualcomm Stadium before the game.

Officials say 140,000 children in San Diego County are food insecure and need help.

"What we're doing today and every home game is raise money through change. Your dollars, your spare change, to help the food bank serve meals to people who are food insecure," Union Bank vice president, Rana Sampson said.

Food bank officials say they can buy five meals from each dollar raised.

The Chargers and Union Bank also pledged to match every dollar raised up to $5,000 each.
