The third annual event -- hosted by St. Madeleine Sophie's Center, Downtown El Cajon Business Partners and the City of El Cajon -- will take place on East Main Street and Rea Avenue on Friday, October 24 from 5 to 10 p.m.

This year's event will feature new entertainment on multiple stages including live music from Mighty Untouchables, Ryan Hiller and Fabulous Pelicans, as well as performances from community groups such as TNT Dance Team, Rubio's Performing Arts and St. Madeleine Sophie's Center.

Free festival activities include craft booths and games, Kidz Zone, candy trails, outdoor movies, a pumpkin patch, Halloween inflatables, a decorated cars display and more. For a nominal fee, attendees can enjoy the Terror Truck, an expanded carnival ride area for kids, food vendors and dining experiences at local restaurants.

HauntFest goers are also encouraged to wear their best costume, as costume contests for children and adults will take place with $925 in prizes. For more information, visit
