LA PRESA (CNS) - A water main broke in the La Presa area early Wednesday, sending water gushing through a residential neighborhood, authorities said.
Flooding on Maya Street near Jamacha Road was reported just before 6 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The agency closed Maya Street at Luther Drive until further notice.
The Otay Water District says a 10-inch pipe failed. The pipe was only 22 years old, and the cause of the break was under investigation.
A water truck is providing service to the two homes that are affected.
Repairs are expected to be completed by 8 p.m. Wednesday.
