Protesting against police brutality

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) -- People across the country -- including San Diego-- joined in solidarity against police brutality.

About 100 people showed up in City Heights for a protest Wednesday. Organizers encouraged them to always question police and always have a camera rolling.

For many, the protest was focused on what they call "trigger happy" officers. For others, the focus was more on the string of San Diego officers convicted of sexual assault.

"It's terrible because I have three daughters. I have three daughters. And (police) are supposed to be people who protect us and they don't do it, you know? So I feel betrayed. I'm scared," rally speaker Sandra Galindo said.

Officers were there in case things got out of hand, but the event remained peaceful.
