SWAT officer shot while serving a search warrant

SAN GABRIEL, Calif. (AP) — Police say a Pomona SWAT officer has been shot while serving a search warrant in San Gabriel, and a suspect has been arrested.

City News Service reports the shooting occurred at a residence around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Pomona police Corporal Rich Martinez says the wounded officer is being treated at a hospital. The extent of his injuries isn't immediately known.

Martinez says the officer was part of a SWAT team serving a search warrant when he was shot.

He says a suspect is in custody and an investigation is underway.
