Hazel and Naylisa in urgent need of a forever home

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – There is an urgent need to find an adoptive family for two local sisters. They're in an emergency children's shelter right now and they're hoping their next move will be their final one – a move into a forever family.

Eight-year-old Naylisa and 10-year-old Hazel have a lot to celebrate these days. They're thrilled to be living together again, after being separated in foster care for about a year.

But where they are living is not ideal. The sisters have been placed in an emergency children's shelter, while they wait to find a forever home.

During our playdate at Boomers San Diego, I quickly noticed how polite these sisters are and when I found I needed help both girls were eager to help.

Social workers say Naylisa and Hazel have faced many obstacles in their short lives and what they need is a forever family that's committed to providing them with a safe and stable home and unconditional love.

These sisters delight in the little things and what they're aiming for is a forever family to cheer them on and guide them.

Despite the many changes and moves they've had to make while in foster care, both are doing well in school, receiving good grades.

And Naylisa is thankful to her older sister for helping her with homework, saying:

“She helps me with time tables, division and addition and subtraction.”

Hazel and Naylisa have been together through good times and bad and have developed an unbreakable bond.

These sisters are on the right track, but what they need is a forever family to help steer them through life and celebrate their successes.

CBS News 8 would also like to thank Boomers San Diego for hosting a fun day at the park.
