Marijuana dispensaries ordered to shut down

Posted: Updated:
SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) –The San Diego city attorney's office has put two more marijuana dispensaries on notice.

On Wednesday, a judge gave The Bakery Collective in the 6500 block of El Cajon Boulevard and Green Urban Association in the 3100 block of El Cajon Boulevard 24 hours to shut down.

Officials say the medical marijuana storefronts were operating without a permit.

San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith says he's shut down 200 illegal storefronts, and the city has made nearly $1 million from fines.

In March, San Diego City Council members approved restrictive regulations to grant a conditional use permit for medical marijuana shops.

A shop in Otay Mesa is the only one that has been approved, but it is held up on appeal. A hearing is scheduled for December 18.
