SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The City of San Diego has released an After Action Report on the Bernardo Fire.

The report outlines lessons learned and improvements that can be made in fighting future wildfires.

“This is a valuable process that allows us to evaluate and improve upon our training, expertise and capabilities,” San Diego Fire Chief Javier Mainar said Monday. “It's something we do on a greater or lesser scale after every significant emergency incident, and it is always worthwhile, whether it is a citywide and department-wide analysis like this one, or is the crews at a smaller emergency sharing information before leaving the scene.”

Mainar also said that 35 of the 90 report recommendations have been implemented with more recommendations expected to be in place in the coming months.

The Bernardo Fire burned 1,548 acres between May 13 and May 17, 2014. There were no injuries or fatalities. There was also zero damage to structures.
