SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The stormy weather descending on San Diego Tuesday and Wednesday has put some areas at risk of flash floods and mud slides.

The areas that are most at risk are those that were devastated by the Cocos Fire in May. The fires destroyed much of the vegetation, leaving the landscape dry and barren.

This lack of vegetation leaves the soil weak and vulnerable to heavy downpours that could create mudslides.

Homeowners in these areas are keeping a close eye on the storm, worried that the rain will wash soil, rocks and other debris toward their homes.
