CrimeFighters Manhunt suspect arrested, does not go quietly

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In this CrimeFighters Manhunt, we were going to tell you to look out for Anthony Stromoski, a man wanted in connection with a stabbing Wednesday, as well as several other crimes. Instead, we're showing you his arrest.

Police say Anthony Stromoski took off when they tried to pull him over Thursday, eventually crashing a reportedly stolen minivan in the 3000 block of Camino Coralino. He wasn't happy to see our cameras.

Stromoski was wanted for a previous stabbing in a domestic violence incident and for violating a restraining order. Police say he stabbed another person Wednesday night in Bay Ho in the 4000 block of Rafee Drive.

"He actually attacked one of his associates… allegedly he stabbed him because this associate had ratted him out to law enforcement officials about his whereabouts," SDPD Capt. Jerry Hara said.

As you might expect, he didn't go into custody willingly.

"He wanted to fight with officers, you know, 'Shoot me, shoot me," and we said we're not gonna do that," Hara said.

He tried to run away, but was quickly captured. Officers say he had several knives on him when he was taken into custody, and they're glad he's off the streets.

"He's very violent and armed with knives, so we had been looking for him for the past week," Hara said.
