SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The seventeenth and final gang member sought in a big federal anti-gang indictment was arrested Saturday near La Presa, in southeast San Diego today by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Wiley Greeno was arrested without incident at a house at 252 Coolwater Drive, not far from Skyline Drive.

"The arrest of Greeno this morning by the U.S Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the San Diego Sherrifs East County Gang Task Force, concludes Operation Stolen Souls, which targeted 22 gang members and associates," said Ben Walker, a deputy U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of California.

The spokesman said Operation Stolen Souls was tasked with locating and arresting 17 gang members, and it arrested 16 of the 17 alleged gang members on

Dec. 11. Greeno was the sole remaining fugitive.

"He was found hiding at 252 Coolwater Drive, and Task Force members descended on the house and arrested Greeno without incident," Walker said.

Walker said Greeno was turned over to the San Diego Sheriffs East County Gang Task Force for processing. Greeno was later booked into federal custody in San Diego and is expected to appear in Federal Court on Monday.

"This is a fine example of what can be accomplished with cooperation between multiple state and federal law enforcement agencies," U.S. Marshal Steve Stafford said.

"The U.S. Marshals will not rest until the job is done, and locating the last fugitive on this indictment was our highest priority."

The San Diego Fugitive Task Force is comprised of 16 federal, state and local agencies and is part of a network of U.S. Marshals Task Forces across the country.

It claims to arrest more than 2,300 dangerous criminals every year.

It is one of seven congressionally funded fugitive task forces all across the country.
