SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The meerkats at the San Diego Zoo are a little more merry after keepers made a special delivery to their enclosure Monday.
The "enrichment wreaths" were designed to encourage the meerkats' natural behaviors of foraging and digging. They were made from gravura plants and accented with red hibiscus flowers. One even had a bow made from parts of a palm tree.
For an extra special treat, each wreath was trimmed with mealworms, a staple of the meerkat diet.
