SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Thousands of tiny lights have been placed in the trees along C Street from Front Street to 8th Avenue.
The lights will stay up year-round.
In addition to being pretty, officials say they create a sense of safety and community in the neighborhood.
Lights already line a section of B Street downtown and there are plans to put them up along 4th, 5th, and 6th streets in the Gaslamp.
