Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Temperatures below the freezing point and frost that could potentially kill some uncovered outdoor plants were expected again overnight in low-lying valley and desert areas.

The National Weather Service scheduled a frost advisory for the valleys and deserts from midnight tonight to 8 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures in wind-sheltered locales were expected to drop into the upper 20s to mid- 30s late tonight into early Sunday

"The cold dry atmosphere in place will result in areas of late night through early morning frost in portions of the valleys and deserts tonight into

Sunday morning," according to the weather service.

Forecasters warned that sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
