SD Humane Society celebrates Pet Wellness Month

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Diego Humane Society is welcoming the New Year with specialized programming geared toward getting you and your pet in shape.

Expanded Wag & Walk hikes encourage dog owners to explore new areas of San Diego, with weekend hikes to such places as Discovery Lake and Tecolote Canyon National Park.

Partnering with Leash Your Fitness founder and owner Dawn Celapino, The San Diego Humane Society will be offering lectures and demonstrations geared toward helping dog owners find the right fitness activities and exercises that fit their wellness goals.

A Happy Hour Lecture by Dawn Celapino will highlight the best ways to incorporate your dog into your hiking routines.

January 15 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at San Diego

January's Doggie Café will feature a demonstration by Leash

Your Fitness trainers on fitness activities both you and your pet can enjoy.

January 9 from 6-8 p.m. at Oceanside Campus

January 30 from 6-8 p.m. at San Diego Campus

    SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - At least two people were taken to area hospitals after a dispute between neighbors in Chula Vista led to gunfire. Chula Vista Police Department officers responded to the incident near Monterey Avene and E. J Street. in Chula Vista at around 10:28 p.m. One victim was taken to UCSD Medical Center and another was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Check back for updates on this breaking news story.
