The suspect allegedly trying to set a fire in the area that the female tenant lived.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Just moments after bailing out of jail, a Hillcrest homeowner is behind bars again.

Wednesday morning, the 52-year-old man was arrested at his home for allegedly harassing a female tenant and setting a fire on her porch. Police say after he was released from jail, he returned home and started harassing the same tenant again. Officers eventually took him into custody for allegedly being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, officers reported that the homeowner set fire to the woman's porch and patio area with a curtain and Duraflame log.

Officers also said that the suspect screamed at them after setting the fire and wouldn't surrender, prompting a standoff that lasted more than one hour near the corner of Herbert Street and Upas Street. At one point, police knocked down the front door with a battering ram. After the standoff, police entered the house and arrested the homeowner in his bathrobe.

The homeowner was expected to be charged with felony arson and resisting arrest in that incident.
