Jeans designed to stop digital pickpocketing

Posted: Updated:

(CBS 8) - A new article of clothing is boasting a pocket protector that you might want.

They are crime-stopping jeans. The pockets are lined with a special metallic alloy that creates a shield, which will prevent digital pickpocketing.

The jeans are designed with the help of software security company Norton, whose representatives says that nearly three-quarters of people are vulnerable to digital pickpocketing.

Thieves use a device called a Sniffer to steal information from your credit card, passports, key fobs, and more.

"When you put your wallet in your pocket, you can be certain no one out there is going to be able to get at your data,” said a Beta Brand representative.

The jeans, made by clothing company Beta Brand, are $168 a pair.
