Man pleads not guilty to attempted murder charges

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – A man pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and false imprisonment charges Friday in connection with the stabbing of his former girlfriend.

Prosecutors say Kevin Moreno snuck into the woman's apartment earlier this week and stabbed her in the neck. He took the woman to the hospital, but when a nurse questioned the victim about her wounds, Moreno took off.

He was arrested Wednesday evening when a U.S. Marshal spotted him in Otay Mesa.

Moreno is being held on $500,000 bail.
