The Go Red Campaign aims to raise awareness about heart disease, which is the number one killer of American women.

The UC San Diego Health System offered free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings Friday to educate women on their risk factors and teach them how to reverse or prevent heart disease.

"How you can start exercising and eating right and you need to stop smoking. You need to get in and see a doctor every year to make sure you're healthy," said Lisa Murphy with UC San Diego Health System.

Since the Go Red movement was launched a little over a decade ago, more than 650,000 women have been saved from heart disease.
