Mayor announces new city infrastructure repair plan

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego Mayor Faulconer launched a new plan to fix the city's streets and tackle a backlog of infrastructure projects.

The mayor announced Thursday that the city will double its road repair efforts next year, aiming to fix 300 miles of city streets.

It's part of a bigger plan to change the way the city deals with infrastructure repair which includes new technology to simplify bidding, streamlining environmental surveys and prioritizing necessary upgrades.
