SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - 7-month-old Juniper Aavang was killed and her father was seriously hurt when they were hit by an SUV while walking in Point Loma on Monday.

Residents say there have been too many close calls in that crosswalk at Catalina Boulevard and Canon Street.

Now, one woman is petitioning the city to have that intersection totally reworked.

CBS News 8's Matt Johnson has additional details in this video report.
