Firefighters rescue stuck dog in Oceanside

Posted: Updated:

OCEANSIDE (CBS 8) - A dog is back with his family in Oceanside after getting stuck in a narrow space less than a foot wide.

Spike, a 12-year-old Rhodesian ridgeback, got wedged between two storage containers on an elementary school playground while playing with some kids on Sunday.

The dog's owners tried for an hour to free him, but Spike was stuck about six feet in.

Firefighters came to the rescue and using special equipment, they were able to pry the containers just wide enough for Spike to walk out on his own.
