SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A US Navy SEAL based on Coronado died Wednesday morning after an accident during parachute training.
The skydiver was reported down just after 9 a.m. in Perris, a rural section of Riverside County.
The Navy confirmed the sailor was assigned to a West Coast-based Naval Special Warfare Unit.
Officials have not released the SEAL's identity, saying the family needed to be notified.
