CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - It's a sure sign spring is here. The Carlsbad Flower Fields are open for business.
Visitors can enjoy more than 50 acres of giant Tecolote ranunculus. The buds are in bloom for six to eight weeks every year, and this year's dry winter and warm February have produced a bumper crop.
"We have actually quicker color and more color for this date than we would have historically. Now's a really good time to come out to the fields," general manager Fred Clarke said.
The fields are open through May 10. Tickets are $12 for adults, $11 for seniors and $6 for kids 3-10 years old. Children under 2 are free.
