CORONADO (CNS) - Coronado police released a composite sketch Sunday afternoon of a man suspected of trying to kidnap two children on Saturday.
The sketch, which can be viewed online at http://local.nixle.com/alert/5393734/ , depicts the suspect described as an adult Asian man with dark hair. Police now believe the white older model minivan he was last seen driving is possibly a Chevy Astro.
The man is suspected of attempting to kidnap a 9 year-old girl and her 2 year-old sister while they were outside their home on the 500 block of C Avenue in Coronado just before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Police said the suspect drove past the sisters, made a U-turn, and drove back toward them before he yelled out the driver's side window for the two girls to "get in the car." The 9-year-old immediately picked up her sister and ran screaming toward their home as the suspect drove off.
