CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A motorcyclist who slammed into a vehicle that turned into his path at a Chula Vista intersection later died in a hospital, police said Friday.
Witnesses told police the eastbound driver and the westbound motorist both entered the intersection of Fifth Avenue and E Street on a green light shortly after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, but the westbound driver attempted to turn left without yielding to oncoming traffic, according to a Chula Vista police statement.
Following the crash, the motorcyclist was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, but died shortly after, police said. His name was not immediately available.
The other driver was apparently unhurt.
Police said drugs and alcohol were not suspected factors in the crash.
