SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The brother and sister duo you're about to meet have been thriving since being placed into a loving foster home. But what they need now is a forever family to take over and give them a lifetime of love.

Joseph just turned five-years-old and this preschooler is singing a happy tune. Life is good now that Joseph and his little sister Julie are living in a stable and supportive foster home, but what they need now is a forever family.

“Joseph is extremely bright, very, very bright little boy. He's been in preschool now for about a year and the teachers are just blown away by the progress he's made,” said Brittany Fuller a protective services worker. “The interest that he has, he's always interested, he wants to learn new things he wants to do new things.”

Julie is three-years-old.

“Joseph is her little protector. Joseph has to be there, has to make sure she's okay,” continued Fuller. “Has to make sure she has her sippy cup, has everything she needs, and she's always been like that, since she was a baby.”

Julie loves to snuggle and needs extra love and care, having suffered a traumatic brain injury shortly after birth.

“She definitely has a lot of challenges, but she's faced them head on and she's made progress even in the short time she's had the resources and the services she needs,” explained Fuller.

Julie is surpassing all expectations:

“Initially they thought she's not going to walk,” Fuller said.

But Julie is walking, even running, and is starting to communicate with words.

“She's starting to talk, she loves to sing, she's doing new things every day, every day,” added Fuller. “And with a family that can be there to love her, support her, challenge her and realize her potential, I know that she'll be amazing.”

The hope is that Joseph and Julie will find a forever family soon so they can continue to thrive.

“They definitely have to be together, the two of them, they love each other too much and joseph needs her, and Julie needs Joseph,” Fuller continued.
