Point Loma woman's death ruled a suicide

Multiple police cars were on the scene at a Point Loma home in the 700 block of Rosecrans Street Thursday morning

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - On Thursday night, homicide detectives ruled the death of a Point Loma woman a suicide.

Early Thursday morning, homicide detectives were called to a multi-million dollar home in Point Loma to investigate what was thought to be a suspicious death. Authorities swarmed the area when a woman's body was found.

Police received a call just after 5:00 a.m. about a suicide in a home in 700 block of Rosecrans Street in Point Loma.

When officers arrived, they found a woman, believed to be in her 50's, dead with major trauma to her upper body. They said that the weapon used was a large knife.

Neighbors identified the woman as Annika Bohl.

Neighbors said Annika and Robert Bohl own the home and the description of the dead woman matches Annika's description. She was very active in the community, participating in church and social clubs.

According to authorities, due to the amount of blood at the scene and lingering questions, officers are calling this a suspicious death.

According to court documents obtained by CBS News 8, Annika had filed for divorce two weeks ago, stating irreconcilable differences.

The man believed to be her husband, is voluntarily being questioned detectives.
