SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - On Monday, the man who is believed to be the oldest living survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor was paid tribute and honored during a Memorial Day ceremony at La Vista Memorial Park in National City.

Ray Chavez, now 103-years-old, was serving on the Minesweeper, USS Condor, when in the early morning hours of December 7th, 1941, Japanese planes attacked.

"Very proud. Very proud to be a member and a survivor," he said.

Chavez was not injured during the bombing.

He was one of four Pearl Harbor survivors to speak at Monday's event.
