Blood donors liked up early and the first 50 donors received free passes to the museum.
Some donors said giving blood on Memorial Day was a special way to honor the nation's Armed Forces.
"Well our soldiers give so much and they sacrifice so much that taking a little time out of your day and giving blood to help keep them healthy and safe and others that are in need of blood, I think it's important just to help donate," said Heather Melone.
The blood drive was organized by the San Diego Blood Bank and capped off a weekend of Memorial Day activities board the Midway.
