Armed robbers tie up Game Stop employees in Vista

VISTA (CNS) - Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout Thursday for a trio of robbers who tied up the employees of a Vista video game store and got away with cash, consoles and games.

One of the suspects, who were all wearing some type of disguise, walked into the Game Stop at 510 Hacienda Drive shortly before closing time Wednesday night and began perusing the video games, Sheriff's Sgt. Dwain Washington said.

The business closes at 9 p.m., according to its website.

His two alleged accomplices entered minutes later with their faces covered. One pulled a handgun and they forced the store's two employees into a storage room at gunpoint and bound them, Washington said.

Neither employee was injured, he said.

Washington said the bandits stole cash from two registers, video game consoles and games. They fled in a vehicle they had parked at the back of the business.

Someone alerted the sheriff's department to the robbery shortly after 9:30 p.m., according to the sergeant.

Two of the three suspects were described as black and between 20 and 30 years old with medium builds.

The first suspect to enter the store was wearing a black puffy wig. The others had on long sleeve shirts and blue jeans, and one had on a mask while the other used a handkerchief to cover his face, authorities said.

Anyone with information on the robbery was asked to call the sheriff's department at (760) 940-4551, or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
