Las Vegas wins big on water conservation

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS (CBS 8) - While many areas on the West Coast are doing everything possible to save water during the drought, Las Vegas has some to spare.

Sin City adopted mandates about a decade ago when the drought began that have led to water usage being cut by more than 30%. One of the mandates leading to the massive cut is recycling almost 100% of water used indoors back to Lake Mead.

In addition, some casinos have implemented their own water saving techniques, including low flow fixtures.
