Wounded warrior arrives in Boston

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The former Marine Sergeant wounded in Afghanistan on a ride across America from San Diego to Arlington, received a hero's welcome in Boston.

On Tuesday, Toran Gaal arrived in Boston with state and local police. He also met with Boston Marathon bombing survivors.

He and his support driver Brian Riley, also a wounded Marine sergeant, left Seaport Village on June 1st, and have cycled more than 3,000 miles through 15 states, rain storms, and 100-degree heat.

They have inspired hundreds of families and veterans.

Toran is an advocate for adaptive sports. The former Marine lost both his legs, above his knee and hip, suffered a brain injury in an IED explosion June 2011, in Afghanistan.

Toran is riding across America to raise money for the Semper Fi Fund.
