Fitbits get a fashion makeover

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - You may love your activity tracker, but the rubber bracelet, perhaps not so much. Now, a San Diego woman has a way to give those popular Fitbits a fashion makeover.

The fun, funky and functional bracelets and necklaces are designed to hide your Fitbit. San Diegan Cynthia Blais is the founder.

"Fitness and fashion have been my big things my whole life, so this is a perfect combination," she said.

Blais bought a Fitbit for herself, but found the sporty bracelet could be an eyesore.

"I'm a Zumba teacher, and I started noticing my students having amazing results because of activity trackers. Obviously not a good look for the suit, fine for the gym, but not the best for when you want to dress up," she said.

Blais created a way to camouflage the fact people are counting steps.

"i just started playing around with my own jewelry. I just got to thinking, I should do it on a large scale, because I knew other people must be having the same problems," she said.

Fitbit owners can now conceal the entire tracker, and removable trackers can be placed in a pouch.

Blais said the fact people can do their job without anyone else knowing they are wearing an activity tracker is one of the main reasons people like her products.
