IMPERIAL BEACH (CBS 8) - Join the conversation and cheer for your favorite surfing dog using #SurfDogUnleashed.
Saturday, August 1, is the '2015 Unleashed by Petco Surf Dog Competition' in Imperial Beach.
Unleashed by Petco is committed to nurturing the pet and pet parent bond through fun and outdoor activity. The team is excited to celebrate the tenth year of Surf Dog.
The event will include an agility course and off-leash play area featuring samples and coupons from a variety of pet food brands.
Professional surfer and pet parent, Taylor Knox, will judge a field of more than 50 Surf Dogs at the family friendly event.
"We have Taylor Knox coming back this year. He was here last year and loved it so much he wanted to come back this year", Natalie Behlman, Petco Unleashed said.
The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA will be hosting pet adoptions on-site. For two-legged adults in attendance, Coronado Brewing Company will host a beer garden featuring their new “Surf Dog Pale Ale.”
The event starts at 9:00 a.m., and everyone is invited to come out and join the fun.
All proceeds from the event will benefit a great cause, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA.
