SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Friends and family gathered at Miramar National Cemetery Thursday to remember local musician Joe Johnson.
Johnson died earlier this month at the age of 80. The tenor sax player and singer was inducted into the San Diego African American Musicians Heritage Foundation in 2006.
He was a self-taught musician who spent more than 40 years playing at several venues around San Diego. His family says people often compared his playing to Junior Walker and the Allstars.
