No fear could be this guy’s motto. Robbie Maddison has completed stunts around the world - he has backflipped over the opened Tower Bridge in London, leapt over 300 feet across the Corinth Canal and here in San Diego he jumped close to 400 feet over the San Diego Harbor (with a friend on a snowmobile next to him).
The current challenge: Maddison is taking on the big waves in Tahiti on his highly-modified motorcycle. That challenge has been completed and now you can watch this daredevil in action. After two years of filming, Maddison’s "Pipe Dream" is a now reality.
Maddison talked with Surfer Magazine about the origin of his idea: "I was on the back of a boat and we were cruising along the river and I’m looking at the wake coming up the back, watching her wakeboard, and something clicked in my head. I fantasized putting skis on a bike and riding on water. It was a stupid vision at the time, but I kept toying with it, playing with designs and concepts, and eventually it became a reality."
