Brothers Gino & Stanley hoping for one forever home

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - It's something most siblings take for granted - living together, under one roof. For brothers Gino and Stanley, it's the one thing they're both wishing for, more than anything else in the world, to be reunited soon, in one forever home.

Gino and Stanley's playdate at the park began with an unexpected treat - priceless photos of time spent together.

The photographs are extra special for these brothers, because Gino and Stanley are living apart right now, in foster care. And each memory is something they truly cherish.

Ten-year-old Gino and eight-year-old Stanley were placed in different foster homes about six months ago, and they say life has been difficult without each other.

It's clear, Gino and Stanley share a special bond.

“They are such good boys, I mean they're athletic, they're energetic, they're positive, Gino's a really good, sort of big brother type, always encouraging,” explained Shannon O'Brien Court an Appointed Special Advocate. “He even encourages me. If I drop the ball when we're playing, he says, ‘it's okay Shannon,’ and you know, so Stanley really enjoys seeing him, because they're not living together right now.”

The boys have just one wish: to live together.

The brothers are bilingual in English and Spanish and are both are very smart.

“Stanley is very much a problem solver, I see him as a future engineer. He just always has got an angle that really creative thinking,” said O'Brien. “And Gino, he's a great reader, great in school, and like I said, really positive big brother coach type.”

And they're hoping they'll be able to see each other again every day, in a forever home.

“I think any family would be lucky to have them and lucky to have these boys in their life,” noted O’Brien.
