President Obama plays golf at Torrey Pines

Posted: Updated:

LA JOLLA (CNS) - President Barack Obama played golf at Torrey Pines Sunday, a day after a multi-city series of political fundraising from San Francisco and down the Golden State.

The president arrived at the municipal golf course at 12:15 p.m. with his friends, Darrell Harrington and Mike Ramos.

He had spent the night in Rancho Santa Fe, and plans to depart Monday afternoon.

During an event at a home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, Obama singled out Rep. Scott Peters, D-San Diego, as "one of the finest members of Congress." He also praised Peters' votes on trade and equal pay.

"(Peters) not only has a good heart, but knows how to get things done," Obama said.
