SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Governor Brown was at UC San Diego for a summit focused on climate change Tuesday.

The governor was the keynote speaker at the UC Summit on Carbon and Climate Neutrality. During his remarks, Brown said fighting climate change is difficult because it's a problem many people have a hard time understanding.

"  Climate change doesn't have a face, it doesn't have a national identity and it's not located in any one spot. It's diffuse, it's global and that makes it difficult," said Gov. Brown.

At the summit, UC researchers presented data showing that global warming could be slowed dramatically by reducing greenhouse gases like methane emissions by 50% and black carbon by 90% over the next fifteen years.
