Trade your candy for money and make troops smile

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Are you bracing yourself for Halloween? Kids running around on sugar highs and bouncing off the walls.

What if you could convince them to give their candy away instead of devouring it?

The Super Dentists are continuing their long standing Candy Buy Back tradition. On Monday, November 2, kids can bring in candy to The Super Dentist offices in exchange for cash.

Kids will receive $1 for every pound of candy they bring in, and The Super Dentists will donate an additional $1 per pound of candy to Classics 4 Kids, a local charity. All candy will be donated to our troops overseas along with letters of appreciation brought in with the candy.

CBS News 8's Ashley Jacobs, in the above video, reports from Carmel Valley where kids can turn their candy in for cash.
