Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Over the past few days San Diego has been hit with exceptionally high tides along the coastline and it seems high tide watching is very popular among CBS News 8 viewers.

Low-lying areas like beach parking lots and nearby streets were partially flooded due to the so-called "spring tides" - an occurrence when the sun and the moon line up.

CBS News 8 posted a short clip of the high tides on our social media pages. Our 45 second Facebook clip garnered over 750,000 views, 7,700 shares and over 1,000 comments. Well, one of our editors has created an extended two minute clip of the raw Chopper 8 footage for your viewing pleasure. Check out the video!
