Soldiers Who Salsa: Healing our heroes, one step at a time

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The men and women serving our country are finding new ways to heal, after combat.

Dancing proves to be good for the mind, body and soul at a Veterans Day event at The Headquarters at Seaport  to help benefit Soldiers Who Salsa, a local non-profit organization dedicated to teaching salsa dancing to wounded, ill and injured members of the U.S. military.

From noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, the Headquarters’ courtyard will be transformed into a dance floor with live salsa dancing and music from Latin Grammy-Winning salsa band, the Manny Cepeda Trio.

About six military couples from the program will be showing off their moves, and anyone is welcome to join in.

CBS News 8's Ashley Jacobs, in the above video, shows us her dance moves with some soldiers who salsa.
