SAN DIEGO (CBS 8/CNS) - A body was found Saturday morning in a Mission Valley riverbed near Admiral Baker Golf Course, officials confirmed.

San Diego police said they received a call shortly before 8 a.m. from someone who found the body in the 2400 block of Admiral Baker Road.

A fisherman noticed a body floating in the water and called police.

River rescuers were able to pull the body from the river by using ropes to hoist the body up an embankment, officials said.

Police responded to the scene, but homicide detectives have not yet gotten involved with the case.

The medical examiner took over the investigation for further investigation in Grantville.
