LA MESA (CNS) - A fire of unknown origin destroyed one residence Wednesday at a mobile home park near Lake Murray, damaged another and gutted a shed.
The non-injury blaze in the 7400 block of Oakland Road in La Mesa erupted shortly before 9:30 a.m. Crews arrived to find a single-wide unit engulfed in flames, Heartland Fire & Rescue spokesman Sonny Saghera said.
It took the personnel about 30 minutes to subdue the fire, which left the residence a total loss. It also scorched the exterior of a next-door home and leveled an adjacent outbuilding, Saghera said.
A preliminary damage estimate put the monetary losses at $50,000.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
