SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - It was announced Wednesday morning that the head coach of an Otay Ranch youth football team has been ordered to step down.

In September, the Otay Ranch Broncos were suspended from their league after fans and parents brawled in the stands during a game between the Broncos and the Inland Empire Ducks  at Otay Ranch High School.

Cell phone video was later released in which dozens of fans and parents can be seen fighting in the stands. American Youth Football claims that in the video from September's brawl, Coach Marcel Hawkins can bee seen participating in the violence, leading to Hawkins' suspension.

Hawkins maintains that the man in the video is not him and that he was not directly involved in the fight.

American Youth Football issued the following statement November 17, 2015:

In light of recent events stemming from the September 26, 2015 fight, which occurred during the Otay Ranch Broncos and Inland Empire Ducks youth football game, American Youth Football (“AYF”,) the nation’s largest youth football and cheer organization, is issuing this statement to provide clarification as it relates to its actions in allowing the Otay Ranch Broncos and the Inland Empire Ducks to participate in the American Youth Football Desert Pacific Regional qualifier, with an opportunity to advance and participate in the 2015 American Youth Football National Championships.
